Union 4 is designed with script from 1608 by French calligrapher Luca Materot, 1673 by English engraver Edward Cocker, and an early sketch for Baskerville typeface 1757 by English printer/type designer John Baskerville.

From Pompeii graffiti 2000 years ago to today, the Union collection tells the story of ‘&’, a mark that evolved from the Latin ‘et’. The design of each plate reflects its place in our timeline to create unique pieces that also come together beautifully as a set.

about Whitebeam Studio
- Welcome to Whitebeam Studio! We are an independent designer/maker studio based in Brooklyn New York and Clerkenwell London, founded five years ago by English designer Diana Allen and her daughter, visual artist Holly AllenCooper.
  
  We work collaboratively, our respective arts backgrounds combining to make collections that may appear eclectic but always originate in drawing and the highest quality raw materials.
  
  Our products are all designed and developed inhouse. Our stainless steel jewelry and art prints are made by hand at our two studios, ceramics in collaboration with a small uk pottery.
